Ducted or recirculation installation
The Aria is available as either a ducted version or a recirculation version. The ducted version is designed to vent cooking vapours outside through suitable ducting, which is usually the preferred option where an external route is practical.
The recirculation version is designed for installations where ducting to an outside wall is not suitable. It uses charcoal filters and a ducting kit to route cleaned air back into the kitchen through a discreet ceiling vent, rather than simply blowing air into a sealed ceiling void.
Please select the correct version before ordering, as the installation requirements are different.
Important installation note
For a flush-fit installation, the joists need to run in the same direction as the hob. If the joists run across the hob, the hood will not be able to sit flush between them in the same way.
The product should always be checked by a suitable tradesperson before installation, especially where ceiling depth, joist direction, duct route or recirculation requirements are uncertain.
Slim rectangular ducting for easier ceiling installation
The Aria uses a 220 x 90mm rectangular outlet, which is equivalent to 6 inch ducting. This slim rectangular format is useful for ceiling installations because it can be easier to route through restricted ceiling voids than standard round ducting.
For ducted installations, the hood can be ducted using the rectangular system or converted to 150mm round ducting where required for compatible external venting systems.

Which version should I choose?
Choose the ducted version if you can route the air outside through suitable ducting. This is usually the best option where the installation allows it.
Choose the recirculation version if you cannot duct outside. The recirculation option uses charcoal filters and routes the cleaned air back into the room through a ceiling vent.
Do not vent the hood into a sealed ceiling void. Whether ducted or recirculated, the air must be routed correctly.
